The Trust maintains a register of psychotherapists whose patients are welcome to apply to the Trust.Inclusion on the register is dependent on the therapist being registered as a qualified psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (psychoanalytic section) or the British Psychoanalytic Council, or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (having completed a BACP accredited training in psychodynamic counselling). CPAT will also include trainee psychotherapists from the above categories if they are on the UKCP register for Trainees.
Every therapist whose patient is assisted by the Trust must register with the Trust, pay an annual subscription to assist our work, and remain registered for the duration of the grant. This helps us guarantee our standards, and the subscriptions form a very necessary contribution to our funds.Because the aim of the Trust is to help people who would be otherwise unable to afford psychotherapy , our expectation is that the therapist of a successful applicant will see the patient for a reduced fee.
If you are a psychoanalytic psychotherapist we hope you will consider registering with us. The current annual subscription is £100.Psychotherapists whose patients make an application for a grant will be asked to provide a letter supporting the application. This should include details of the fee being charged, the frequency of the sessions and any other relevant information concerning the patient’s financial circumstances.
Psychotherapists wishing to register should fill out the form below. Alternatively, please download the following Registration Form and send it to the subscriptions and donations address on our contact page. Don’t forget to make arrangements for the subscription fee.
Once submitted, please make arrangements to pay your annual registration fee of £100. Either send a cheque or pay via bank transfer, details available under subscription and donations on our contact page.
Our year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
